Easy Royalties
Easy Royalties is an affordable royalty software solution for small publishers and art museums.
Running on a Windows personal computer pricing begins at $500 for a 50 title system and tops out at $10,000 for an unlimited system license. Multi-user licenses cost $350 per user. What can Easy royalties do?
Sales Import
It tracks your sales and uses this information to calculate royalties that you may owe to intellectual property owners such as authors or artists.
Sales are imported from any standard file format; such as Excel or a comma delimited file, or they can be entered manually. The import routine automatically saves a file of any records that could not be imported; such as sales for products that have not been entered into the system.
Royalty Contracts
Author agreements can be set up to handle a wide array of contractual terms with different royalty rates based on discounts, type of sales, publication formats, escalating percentages based on cumulative copies sold, special cases for sales below cost, and much more. Separate rules apply to sales of the publisher’s editions and to subsidiary and foreign rights revenues.
Each title in Easy Royalties can have an unlimited number of authors, and a separate author agreement can be set up for each author, with independent royalty rates & rules.
Author agreements also determine how & when royalty statements are produced - for fixed periods (e.g. annual, semi-annual, any fixed number of months, etc.), or, alternatively, on an ad-hoc basis (royalty statements which simply show all activities since the last statement produced).
Unlike other royalty solutions, multiple products can be linked to a single contract. This means that art museums need only create one contract for the 50 postcards they sell of one artist’s work and the book publishers need only to create one contract for the hardcover, paperback and ebook editions of an author.
Royalty Statements
Author royalty statements can be produced periodically, in batches ranging from “everything” (all titles with royalty statements due) to a simple statement for just one author’s contract, and anything in between.
Microsoft Word Integration
Easy Royalties is integrated with Microsoft Word to allow the user to merge your data seamlessly with Microsoft™ Word™ to generate contracts, mailings, follow-up letters, campaigns and more - all using your own Word™ templates.
This feature allows you to select data and point to a Word template that you have created. Easy Royalties generates a Word document - similar to using Word’s merge facility - using the template you have selected.
Special “tags” in the template tell Easy Royalties where to put the data. Once the final document is generated, you can do what you like with it - change it, save it, print it, etc.
There is no limit to the number of templates you can use. Templates are very simple to create - no special knowledge is required, and the software includes plenty of examples to help you get started.
